I’m back from holiday! I had lots of fun in Tokyo, but it’s great to be back home :) for my first day back, I went all out with my makeup, and cut and layered pairs of Baci eyelashes to create a dramatic look!

MAC eyeshadow

The lovely Heather (-nova) recently sent me a blue MAC eyeshadow!

I was super excited to open it up and see what it was like; I’ve never used MAC before so wasn’t sure what to expect.

The packaging is nice and simple looking and the shadow is in a compact style- the top has the shadow and underneath there is a mirror and sponge applicator. This is a really nice touch in my opinion, as many eyeshadows don’t have this level of detail. However, it’s not massively useful for me as I use my fingers as makeup weapons!

See, pretty nice! It doesn’t look very shimmery in the pot, and looks quite dark compared to how it comes out on skin.

It’s very buildable (lightest to darkest from right to left to bottom!) and comes out more shimmery than it looks in the pot, but not too much. This is also with flash.

And this is how it looks in daylight actually on my eyes.

The first I used a fair few layers of it, and then layered some purple eyeshadow over the top of one section.

The second I only used one layer and again swept over part with the same purple.

The third I used white pencil eyeliner as a main base, then layered some turquoise/aqua pencil liner over part of that. I layered a small amount of the MAC shadow on top, and then lined my lashline with the same aqua pencil liner.

With all 3, I found that it did crease quite badly, but the colour stayed true for a fair while. I may need to invest in a decent primer (really want to get my mits on the Urban Decay Primer Potion, I shall have it one day!) and see how it works then!

But for now, I would say that this shadow is a really nice colour, great buildability(?) and it does stay put for a good 4 or so hours before beginning to crease.
